Summary[]
The chapter opens up on May 10, 2014 at 08:03:05 in Los Angeles, California. Xanther is in the car with her stepfather Anwar and they are driving through the rain so they can get the surprise gift her parents have waiting for her. Along the way, a series of thoughts race through Xanther's head. As this happens, she starts feeling a small seizure coming but she chooses not to speak up about it, despite promising her parents that she would. Anwar asks Xanther if everything is okay, and she responds by telling him she is thinking about her biological father, Dov.
